Voting in the General Election

The general election is almost here. What’s your plan for voting?

Vote Early by Mail

Any registered voter may apply for an early mail ballot by mail or in person. Applications sent by mail must be received by the Steuben County Board of Elections no later than ten days before the election (October 24). Applications delivered by hand must be received by the Steuben County Board of Elections no later than the day before the election (November 2).

Vote Early in Person

Early voting in person begins on Saturday, October 24, and runs through Sunday, November 1. There are three locations in Steuben County where you can vote early in person.

Vote on Election Day

You can vote in person on Tuesday, November 3, at your designated polling place. In the City of Hornell, the only polling place is the Hornell Community Arts Center. Polls will be open from 6:00 am until 9:00 pm. If you live elsewhere, you must vote at your local designated polling location.

Vote for Democrats!

We urge you to vote for Democratic candidates. Below is a sample ballot for the City of Hornell. If a candidate appears on more than one party line, only vote for them once in the Democratic line.

If you live elsewhere, your ballot may be different.
